What is your Covid Policy?

Once a payment is made the following is our Covid-19 cancellation refund policy.

COVID-19 CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
State Government Covid Lockdown Restrictions prior to your arrival at Falls Creek:
If payment is made and any State government Covid-19 lockdown restrictions come into place for the time of your stay you will receive a refund of your payment amount less 5% of the total tariff quoted. Or your full payment can be keep in credit with us to use for stays up to the end of the 2024 Summer season.

State Government Covid Lockdown Restrictions when you are already at Falls Creek:
If you have started your stay and you have to leave Alpine View due to any State government Covid lockdown time constraint restrictions (such as having to cross a state border by a certain time) you will receive a refund of the nights you could not stay less 5% of the total tariff for those nights. This does not apply to Victorian residents who do not have to go home even if government restrictions commence in the location of their home residence. If you have started your holiday and decide to leave for any other reason (including ski lift closure, bad weather) and Alpine View Apartments remains open, our cancellation policy below will apply.

Isolation due to contracting Covid:
If you contract Covid and must isolate, you will receive a refund of your payment amount less 10% of total tariff quoted. Or your full payment can be keep in credit with us to use for stays up to the end of the 2024 Summer season. Proof without doubt must be provided in the form of a doctor’s certificate before a refund will be considered, or our cancellation policy at the bottom of this page will apply.

How do I secure a booking?

COVID-19 BOOKING POLICY
All bookings made via the Alpine View website, by direct email or phone will be tentative bookings only. A deposit or full payment to secure a booking will only be taken when there are limited apartments available at the time of your stay. You will be contacted before any payment is taken.

If payment is required 50% of the total tariff is to be paid as a deposit within 14 days. For Winter bookings the balance or full payment is required 6 weeks prior to arrival. During summer periods, full payment is required 4 weeks prior to arrival.

On arrival a refundable bond of $1000 is held on a credit card or cash per apartment and is security for damage, smoking in the apartments and disturbance of any kind to other guests.

Getting to / from Falls Creek

Falls Creek is 4½ hours from Melbourne's CBD, an easy day’s drive from Sydney and under 2 hours from Albury. The Bogong High Plains Road winds gently uphill for around 30kms from Mt Beauty to Falls Creek before continuing on through to the recently sealed road to Omeo.

In winter access to Falls Creek is only via the township of Mount Beauty with the road to Omeo closed at Falls Creek. During the declared snow season the road from Mt Beauty to Falls Creek is regularly cleared of snow and while carrying chains is a legal requirement they are rarely fitted on this road.

Early arrivals / Late departures

At Alpine View Apartment we have a luggage storage area to hold your luggage for those who arrive prior to our 4pm check in time and/or wish to enjoy more of Falls Creek after our 9.30am check out time. Also available are showers (towels supplied) and toilets for your use throughout the day. When you arrive in Falls Creek you are welcome to deliver your luggage up to Alpine View. Or alternatively leave your luggage in the car, park in the day car park, and come up to Alpine View after your day on the snow.

If reception is open on your arrival you can check in and we will take your mobile phone number and SMS you when your apartment is ready. Our normal reception hours are 8am to 9.30am and 5pm to 6.30pm and on days guests are arriving reception opens at 4pm. If you arrive before the check in time and reception isn't open place your luggage on the shelving in the large room on the right when you go through the door at snow level, between ours and the next door building. Note - please don't bring your luggage up to reception if you arrive before check in time as you will only have to take it back downstairs.


What is the check in / check out time?

Check in time is 4pm
Check out time is 9.30am

However, you can arrive at any time as we have a luggage storage area and bathrooms with showers for your use, and a late night check in procedure.

Early check out may be possible from 2pm depending on our cleaning schedule and the notice period you give. The fees are:
■ From 2pm - $200
■ From 3pm - $100
If you have small children and you have not arranged an early check in please schedule your arrival for 4pm. If you find you will arrive before 4pm please don't start driving up from Mt Beauty until at least 3pm so you don't get cold waiting for your apartment to be ready.

Late check out may be possible depending on the occupancy of the building, our cleaning schedule and the notice period you give. Late check-out fees are as follows:
■ From 9.30am until 11am - $100
■ After 11am - the full charge of one night’s accommodation at your existing rate will be charged (subject to availability)
■ Late check-outs will most likely not be available in Peak periods from July to August.

Late Night Arrivals

For arrivals at Alpine View Apartments after 6.30pm there will be a note on our reception door which will give you directions on how to get to your apartment. Between 8.15am and 9.30am the following morning come down to reception to check in and collect your apartment keys.

What is the Snowsports Guarantee

Falls Creek’s Snowsports Guarantee provides important piece of mind when planning your trip to the snow, knowing that if there is insufficient snow 48 hours prior to your arrival, to enable three designated downhill runs at Falls Creek to be open for snowsports, then all payments proved to be received (less booking fee) will be refunded.

All snow guarantee cancellations must be received prior to 48 hours of scheduled arrival. Booking fees vary by property. This guarantee does not apply if snowsport runs at the resort cannot be accessed should ski lifts be unable to operate due to other conditions.

This guarantee is applicable every day during the declared Victorian ski season.

If there is a possibility the Snowsports Guarantee will come into affect Alpine View Apartments will contact you in advance (generally 72 hours before your arrival) to discuss.

Do you have baby cots available?

Yes, we can provide baby cots

Our portacots are warm and cosy as we add an additional mattress and provide all linen, blankets and a towel.

The cost is $20 per night.

Let us know when you're booking in so we can ensure it's ready for your arrival.

Why do we hold a bond?

On arrival you will be asked for a credit card to hold $1,000 as a security bond. Cash is also accepted.

Bond covers all unforeseen incidentals such as,

Excess Cleaning of the Apartment - We ask that you leave the apartment as you found it with all excess rubbish remove and all dishes clean or at least in the dishwasher which has been turned on.

Rear Fire Escape - The rear stairwell of the building is an emergency exit only and not permitted for any other use. If found on the stairwell all of your bond will be deducted.

Smoking - Alpine View Apartments is a Non Smoking building. This includes your apartment balcony and the terrace/reception level. If found smoking in apartments or on the balcony a cleaning surcharge will apply and deducted from your bond. Please be aware carpet cleaning, upholstery and curtain cleaning is charged.

Noise - For the satisfaction of all guests no excessive noise is permitted after 10 pm and no excessive noise is permitted at
any time. Bond will be deducted if other paying guests or staff are disturbed.

Damage, repairs or replacement - Any damage must be reported to reception immediately rather than at the end of your stay, as repair or replacement should be made prior to our next guest’s arrival.

Skis/Snowboards in apartments - Skis and snowboards can damage walls and leave rust marks on the carpet and compensation for replacement and repainting will be deducted. Your private ski/board locker is located in bottom level of our building.

What is your normal cancellation policy?


Winter :: If cancellation of your booking occurs more than 60 days prior to arrival you will receive a refund of your payment less an administration fee of 15% of the total tariff per apartment. If cancelled 60-45 days prior to arrival, 50% of the total tariff per apartment will be refunded unless the apartment is re-let, in which case an administration fee of 15% of the total tariff per apartment will be charged. No refund will be given if an apartment booking is cancelled less than 45 days prior to arrival, unless the apartment is re-let, in which case an administration fee of 15% of the total tariff per apartment will be charged.

Summer :: 15% of the total tariff to be paid if cancelled more than 28 days prior to arrival, with the remaining tariff refunded. No refund if cancelled 28 days or less prior to arrival date unless the apartment is rebooked. Then only 15% of the total tariff is payable. In the case of events when bookings are taken months in advance no refund will be given if cancelled 60 days in advance unless the apartment is rebooked when only 15% of the total tariff is retained.
